Chance Discovery Consortium Establishment Meaning
Chance Discovery is to become aware of significant phenomenon or circumstance, to understand them, and take actions for decision-making. It passed three years since the research to realize Chance Discovery started in Japan as origin. International conferences about Chance Discovery were already held, and from academic point of view it has been spreading more and more throughout world. It has achieved concrete scientific outputs in business application earlier than Data Mining method.
This Consortium was established by many researchers in and outside Japan who understood attraction and effectiveness of the Chance-Discoverlogy as well as many business people who recognize the feasibility of the Chance-Discovery.
Significance of the Chance Discovery in business domain is that people do not overlook many important unconscious circumstances so that they can capture chance at the right time with realizing values of circumstances.
Especially, in rapid changeable market the key to success is to incorporate even what will happen into my chance well while it is new.
The methods we developed for the Chance Discovery are;
– to make use of people's experience and tacit knowledge, and to promote chance discovery process enhancing sensitivity as well as communications.
– data mining which visualizes correlation between significant circumstance extracted from Object Data for decision making and other affairs. The circumstance are affairs such as sales, voice of on-line communications and reply to questionnaire.
The Consortium consists of researchers for chance discovery and user members. The Consortium practices activities to achieve the following two important goals in order to promote pursuit of wealth and happiness in society wherethrough chance discovery.
Goal 1) To make use of the Chance Discovery technique for on demand field. In addition, its popularity of the technique changes from wealth distribution into wealth creation, and it lets progressive results go deep in life of people.
Goal 2) To newly research and develop the theory and the technique of the Chance Discovery. The popularization of academic research system pushes forward from “knowledge extraction from circumstances” to “interaction between knowledge and circumstances” in the field of science and research, and realize paradigm shift so that science research can contribute to the betterment of life for mankind along follow to change of social environment.
The Consortium takes action to achieve the goals as follows ;

The Chance Discovery researchers or technology developer visit the field of decision making, and instruct, advise, or do cooperative implementation about implementation of chance discovery. The instruction includes knowledge provision other than technical instruction in the field.
Activity 2) Aid and fostering of the Chance
Discovery researchers and engineers
The Chance Discovery researchers are financed for necessary funds as many as possible. The range of “as many as possible” is made settlement by the Chairperson in consideration of funds offered by beneficiary for the instruction, advice, or cooperative implementation at the Activity 1.
Activity 3) Publication and research conference
The Consortium sets up opportunities for Japan domestic and overseas researchers and businessmen to report the accomplishments of their research. The Consortium makes findings public with publications as well.
The Consortium's establishment meaning is to mainly practices three activities above, but also to have an idea to flexibly create new activities in consideration of change of circumstances.
